After being booted from a posh Manhattan hotel, dozens of illegal aliens clashed with reporters while outside agitators used open umbrellas to block the media from recording the scene.

Several migrants harassed a journalist who was shooting a video for Dubai-based Al Arabiya TV, according to the New York Post, “with one migrant hitting the camera and dislodging its small monitor unit.”

“Some of the 35 migrants gathered in front of the Watson Hotel in Hell’s Kitchen also shouted at other camera operators to try to intimidate them,” the Post reported.

The illegal immigrants had been housed at the Watson Hotel in Midtown Manhattan since last year, after being bused into New York City by Republican governors in border states.

They were scheduled to move to a communal migrant shelter at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, but after getting used to the comfort and privacy of a hotel room, some of the asylum seekers objected.

Authorities reportedly began moving people out of the Watson on Jan. 28,  but the four-day effort was flummoxed after the first round of migrants texted videos of the new shelter to the others.

“The Brooklyn Cruise Terminal is ugly. It’s disgusting,” one migrant said through a translator, according to CBS News.

Apparently encouraged by outside agitators,  30-plus migrants set up camp outside of the hotel to protest the move, forcing the New York Police Department (NYPD) to shut down eastbound traffic.

According to the Post, City Hall blamed “so-called advocates” from groups such as South Bronx Mutual Aid for fueling the standoff.

City officials said that it “was so-called advocates and not actual migrants who stoked dissent and encouraged dozens of asylum-seekers to stand their ground at a three-star Manhattan hotel rather than go to a new mega-shelter set up by Mayor Eric Adams.”

“I don’t even understand the logic here,” Mayoral press secretary Fabien Levy tweeted Monday.  “Instead of encouraging asylum seekers to sleep in warm, indoor, temperature-controlled quarters at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, these groups are telling migrants to sleep in tents on the streets,” he wrote. “The lack of reasoning here is astounding.”

NYPD cops issued warnings during Wednesday’s incident, but made no arrests.

Ghassan Masoud, whose camera was damaged, said he’d never experienced such aggression in all his years as a journalist, which included coverage of the Iraq War.

“In 30 years, even in war zones, I’ve never experienced aggression like that,” Masoud said. “I know their situation is bad. I just want to tell their story and they attacked me.”

Masoud, who usually covers the United Nations, said at one point he was physically threatened.

“One migrant threatened to hit me with a broom, which is when the cops stepped in and told them I had every right to film,” he said.

Antifa militants, who are notorious for being hostile toward journalists and using umbrellas to thwart videography, have been linked to the ongoing standoff.

Earlier this week, Timcast reporter Elad Eliahu captured footage of several suspected antifa agitators working working with the illegal immigrant squatters. The activists reportedly reacted aggressively toward the reporter, blocking his view.

According to the report, a protest monitor with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) coordinated “with at least one member of the far-left, violent extremist group Antifa.”

A separate hotel in Manhattan, the Row NYC, has reportedly “descended into a chaotic storm of violence, drugs, alcohol, and sex due to the arrival of a horde of illegal aliens who are now housed there.”
